現地の方によると「湘南は昔からサメ多いよ」 との事。

相模湾はそんなに遠浅ではないから、近くに大きなサメがいてもおかしくないという。
（英語） The Sagami bay is not a shelving bottom.So it is not mysterious even if there is a big shark.

遠浅というより、 階段状に砂が溜まっている状態と言えば良いという。

例えば大陸棚は、水深２００ｍ以下のことを言うらしいですが、

真鶴の定置網に７メートルクラスのホオジロザメが入ったり、

五輪の競泳男子50メートル自由形などで5個の金メダルを獲得した米国のゲーリー・ホールさん（35）が、妹のベベさん（28）と一緒にフロリダ沖で水中銃で魚をとっている最中にサメに襲われた!!
（英語） American's Mr.Gary hall(35age) who got five gold medals in swimming race 50-meter free style of the Olympics, when he was catching fish with the spear gun with younger sister Bebe (28age), they were attacked by the shark!!

2人が2週間前、マイアミ南西約24キロのフロリダキーズ諸島で、沖にボートを浮かべて水中銃で魚を突いていたところ、 ボートから約200メートル離れたところでサメに遭遇した。
（英語） About two weeks ago, they were catching fishes with the spear gun at Froridakees Islands of the Miami southwest about 24 kilos.In a place away from their boat about 200 meters,they encountered the shark.

急いでボートに戻ろうとしたがサメは2人を襲い、ベベさんが腕をかまれた。
（英語） Though they started returning to the boat in a hurry,the shark attacked them,and the Bebe`s arm was bited.

そのあと、サメはホールさんを襲った。
（英語） After that,the shark attacked Mr.hall.

しかし、その後の記事に目を疑った・・・！！

サメの鼻先を殴ったり、
（英語） He hit the shark`s nose.

けったりして激しく抵抗し、
（英語） He violently resisted by kicking.

何とかサメを振り切った。

コレはまさにあの状態！！！

すげ〜〜よ、ホールさん！！

それから、どうなる〜〜？？？

すると、サメは負傷していたベベさんに大きな口を開けて襲い掛かった。
（英語） The shark opened the large mouth to injured Bebe and attacked her.

サメがホールさんを襲っている間に ベベさんは水中銃をセットしており、
（英語） Bebe was setting the spear gun while the shark was attacking Mr.hall.

サメの口に向けて発射。
（英語） She launched aiming at shark's mouth.

深い傷を負ったサメは、口から大量 の血を流しながら泳ぎ去ったという。
（英語） The shark that received a deep wound swam away,was making the sea dirty by a large amount of blood that flowed from the mouth.

ホールさんは幸いに無傷で済んだが、ベベさんは腕を19針も縫った。
（英語） Fortunately,Mr.hall was flawless.But Bebe sewed the arm by 19 needles.

そして最後にホールさんが一言

「僕は（襲われた際の）50メートルのスプリットタイムが何秒だったか知らないが、
